npe53.jpgExisting Products On Display will include the E3Z line of photoelectric sensors and the CPM2C 'micro' PLC.

* Photoelectric sensors are claimed to have a long-sensing distance from 1 to 15 meters), high noise immunity due to a photo integrated chip, and to use 30% less energy than other photoelectric sensors.

There are 16 sensors in the line with through-beam, retro-reflective and diffuse-reflective models. They are used in a range of conveyor applications. Units are IP67 rated and suitable for wash-down. They can withstand temperatures from 5 to 70 C. Prices start at $77.

* The 'ultra slim' micro PLC measures 33 x 65 x 90 mm and offers several ways to communicate with other devices, including RS-232, host link and no-protocol communications of standard serial devices such as bar code readers. A combination RS-232C/peripheral port allows users to connect two devices at the same time from one location. Analog and temperature sensor models are available.

When used with an Omron NT631/31 HMI, unit can be programmed via a console embedded into each HMI, eliminating the need for a hand-held PLC programming console. Users on the plant floor can access the memory areas of the PLC to monitor, edit and de-bug PLC programs. Programming can also be done through a PC using Omron's CPT support software or SSS software or through a hand-held programming console.

Expandable up to 140 input/output points, unit has a processing speed of 50 ms. Other specifications include: 14 basic instructions with an execution time of 0.64 ms/instruction and 105 special instructions (185 variations) with an execution time of 7.8 ms/instruction, 4096-word program capacity and 256 timers/counters.
