P.E.T.S. introduces new generation of hot runner temperature controller technology
Plastic Engineering & Technical Services Inc. (P.E.T.S.) announced the introduction of its new PHRS family of temperature controllers. The new PHRS Temperature Controller is a PID-controlled instrument, specifically designed for the hot runner plastic injection molding industry. The controller is self-adjusting and capable of maintaining a high degree of accuracy over a wide range of operating conditions, according to information from P.E.T.S.

The new PHRS-GU 12-96 Zone Temperature Control System allows users to monitor, set up and control the system via a computer LAN network using an internet connection.
“These new controllers provide outstanding performance at price levels far below any competitive offerings, and ours is higher amp per zone than traditional controllers,” said Bruce Casey, VP of Global Operations for P.E.T.S. “For instance, PHRS temperature controller pricing begins as low as $575.00 for a two-zone offering, and an 18-zone controller is available for just $5200. Standard 20-foot cables are included and these units are available right now.”
Casey explained to PlasticsToday that processing many of today’s engineering materials tends to be optimized when used with hot runner systems, which accounts for much of the increased interest in hot runner systems vs. traditional cold runner systems.
“The new PHRS and PHRS-GU temperature controllers have been in development for over five years, as we’ve worked with suppliers to maintain the performance of our standard temperature controllers but offer these new controllers with comparable features and at a reduced price point,” said Casey. “That was the idea behind the development of the new PHRS-GU and PHRS controllers.”
Standard delivery time for the new controllers is two weeks.
