Performed PM checks on plant chiller system air compressor/backup compressor/air dryer—all OK | Attended daily 8 a.m. production strategy meeting

8:30-10:30 a.m.
Compiled list of electrical hardware (conduit, wire, etc.) needed to provide power for two recently purchased 50-ton presses | Placed PO with local electrical parts supplier

10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
Developed process for new mold in 500-ton press and made sample parts for customer

1:00-2:30 p.m.
Pulled tryout mold from 500-ton press | Hung production mold and started running product | Handed off to production operator

2:30-5:30 p.m.
Removed guarding and iron air piping from first 50-ton press to gain access to cleanup press | Evaluated new presses and drafted plan to bring both online

8:30-9:30 a.m.
Installed compressed air service to 83-ton press recently relocated to allow room for two new 50-ton presses

9:30-10:30 a.m.
Checked in electrical supplies from order placed last Friday for two new 50-ton presses; staged supplies for electrician

10:30-11:30 a.m.
Reworked compressed air service to shuttle press and dedicated dryer to eliminate air hose running across floor (safety issue)

12:00-3:30 p.m.
Pulled production tool from 500-ton press and hung tryout aluminum mold in same press | Developed process and produced sample parts for customer

3:30-5:00 p.m.
Pulled tryout tool from 500-ton press and hung production tool, began running production parts, and handed press over to second-shift personnel (operator-required production mold)

5:00-5:30 p.m.
Discussed new power service for 50-ton presses with electrician

5:30-6:00 p.m.
Assisted second-shift startup | Checked all presses and ancillary equipment not running to ensure all were shut down properly for the night

Cleaned shuttle press material dryer for next run | Cleaned up pellets from shuttle | Swept floor

9:30 a.m.-1:00 p.m.
Removed guarding, iron air piping from second 50-ton press to gain access to cleanup press | Checked both presses | Planned work needed to ready presses for production

1:30-5:30 p.m.
Changed over new large aluminum mold for tryout

5:30-6:00 p.m.
Assisted second-shift startup | Checked equipment for proper shutdown

Drove to Rochester City electrical supplier on way to work and picked up back-ordered supplies for electric service to new 50-ton presses

8:15-8:45 a.m.
Strategy mtg., PM checks

8:45-9:15 a.m.
Assembled large aluminum tryout mold, lifted onto pallet, and staged for Friday a.m. tryout

9:15-9:30 a.m.
Discussed action plan to repair and reassemble 50-ton presses

9:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m.
Inspected new 50-ton presses and compiled list of replacement parts needed to bring presses to operational condition | Made additional list of parts, including chilled water service plumbing and mold clamping for presses | Contacted vendors for parts availability and pricing | Straightened damaged sheet metal guarding for first press

5:30-6:00 p.m.
Assisted second shift startup | Checked equipment for proper shutdown

Disassembled leveling pads for first 50-ton press and cleaned—three adjusting studs were broken and needed replacement

10:45-11:15 a.m.
Called local fastener house and sourced M12 metric threaded rod to machine new adjusting studs | Called press and picker manufacturers to follow up on parts requests for 50-ton presses

11:15 a.m.-12:15 p.m.
Drove to local fastener house, picked up M12 rod | Machined three new adjusting studs from M12 rod

12:45-4:45 p.m.
Stocked press spare parts received this morning, staged molded product

4:45-5:20 p.m.
Assisted second shift in resolving process issues on two production jobs

5:30-7:00 p.m.
Assembled new vacuum material loader and installed on 170-ton press | Restarted press running full automatic job overnight

7:00-7:30 p.m.
Started shuttle press production mold for second-shift operator | Checked equipment for proper shutdown
