Perlos Pulls Back From Ace Deal

Telecommunications parts supplier Perlos Corp., Vantaa, Finland, could not agree to terms for the acquisition of Hong Kong-based moldmaker Ace Mold Co. Ltd. and its subsidiaries, and processor Ace Plastics Co. Ltd. The companies will continue their existing business cooperation.

The acquisition would have given Perlos production capabilities in the Shanghai area, as Ace Plastics has a manufacturing operation there. Jari Laaninen, the company’s treasury director, says its short-term plans are to strengthen its position in the Beijing region, where it is currently increasing capacity. But with Shanghai attracting numerous electronics companies, he does not rule out establishing operations there in the future.
