Verbruggen (Constructiewerkhuizen G. Verbruggen NV; Temse, Belgium) expects to realize sales of about €8 million (about $11.6 million) in its current fiscal year. The die manufacturer employs about 40 and, post-acquisition, will operate as part of Nordson's adhesive dispensing systems business unit. Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.

Nordson expects the acquisition to be neutral to the company's earnings in the first full year of operation. "Verbruggen provides Nordson an excellent entry into the flexible packaging market, and it is a natural complement to our existing leadership position in rigid packaging applications," commented Nordson president and CEO Michael Hilton in a company release. "The combination of Nordson's global footprint and Verbruggen's differentiated technology will enable us to capture multiple new opportunities as flexible packaging continues to grow worldwide."

Other leading manufacturers of extrusion dies include Cloeren and Extrusion Dies Industries
