Cabinet Cooler Keeps Electrical Controls From Overheating
The Micro NEMA 4/4X Cabinet Cooler is designed to purge and cool overheated electrical control panels. Unit is only 5 in. high so it can be mounted on small enclosures and in confined areas. Applications include microprocessors, PLCs, motor drives and robotic controls.
The Cabinet Cooler converts an ordinary supply of compressed air to 20 F without refrigerants or CFCs. This cool air is circulated through the enclosure to eliminate high-temperature malfunctions. A compressed air filter is said to ensure that no moisture or dust gets inside the panel.
The 550 Btu/hr cooling capacity is ideal for moderate heat loads. Models with capacities up to 2800 Btu/hr for larger enclosures are also available. Prices range from $195 to $800.
Stainless steel construction and thermostat control to minimize compressed air use are available as options. Sound level is 70 dBA at 3 ft. The unit is said to install in minutes and to have no moving parts to wear out.
