New Computerized Traverse Winder For Continuous Extruded Profiles

pn-2.jpgModel MS103-PMC traverse winder from Progressive Machine is designed to provide level, tight spools. Unit has two winding stations (spindles) and a speed/tension controller that has digital tension accuracy so it can wind from a continuous process. It also has a computer control system to manage all functions and winding patterns.

Three computerized winding patterns­ level wind, standard point wind and indexing point wind­are  provided. The servo-driven traverse is capable of almost 1 micron accuracy.

Specifications include: traverse width, 20 in.; rewind diameter, 24 in.; weight/spindle, 100 lb; line speed, 600 ft/min; material width, 3 in.; tension control, 3 to 32 oz.

Optional are a printer interface, counters with preset functions, materials guides, automatic line speed trim and pivoting guides.

These winders range in price from $10,000 to $35,000.
