Screen/Die Changer System Works While Extruder Is Operating

pn10-699.jpgThe new TSK-DC screen/die changer system from Trendelkamp is designed to allow processors to change dies 'in seconds' without stopping the extruder. Unit includes a built-in screen changer.

It is based on the manufacturer's Twin Bolt Continuous Screen Changer design and has a single melt inlet and two outlets. One outlet serves the die in process and the new or next die will be installed on the second outlet, which is closed until needed.

When it is time to change the die, the new die is brought on line by cycling its corresponding bolt, which opens the port to the second die outlet. As soon as the new die is in process, the bolt for the first die is cycled  to close the port and that die can be removed. The next die can be attached and will be ready for the next production change.

PN 10a-6/99Temperature range is -60 to   300 F. Standard lengths are 25 and 50 ft; diameters are from 1.5 to 20 in. Color is black with orange wear strip.

Materials-handling hose is clear to permit observation of materials passing through. Called SF-TPUMH, the urethane hose contains encapsulated copper wire for static grounding.

Hose is said to withstand temperatures between -65 and 200 F. Standard lengths are 25 and 50 ft; diameters are from 1 to 10 in. Hose has a rigid external wear strip.
