Profile extrusion: profine closing plant, shifting production

profine is the world’s largest processor of window profiles, with production across Europe, Russia, China, and the U.S., with this last a sheet extrusion facility. It claims a 20% share of the market. About 350 workers—100 of them part-timers—are expected to be left unemployed as processing in Troisdorf is shifted to facilities in Berlin and Pirmasens.

The processing group, which has about 3700 employees, was established in 2003 when HT Troplast consolidated its profile business activities (KBE, Kömmerling, Trocal) under one roof. —[email protected]
