During the recent American Mold Builders Assn. (AMBA) Annual Convention in St. Thomas, Virgin Islands, Progressive Components (Wauconda, IL) awarded a $1000 educational grant to Terry Back of Tooling Science Inc. (Maple Grove, MN) to distribute the funds to a trade-related school or program of his choice. Back, an AMBA member, said he plans to donate the funds to AMBA’s Minnesota Chapter to support the Chapter’s scholarship program. “Conferences and educational events are integral to keeping our industry competitive in a global marketplace and Progressive Components believes in supporting these programs whenever possible,” said Cy McGrath, who presented the educational grant on behalf of Progressive Components. This was the sixth consecutive year that Progressive sponsored an educational grant for the AMBA. Recipients are chosen in a random drawing at each convention. Grant awardees must be in attendance at the Convention, be a member of the AMBA, and the money must go to a moldmaking trade-related educational program.—[email protected]
