Quick-delivery hot runner system for miniature parts
May 1, 2004
Cost-effective Stellar hot runners are designed for small parts with tight center-to-center distances, and an extended 3-year warranty is now offered. A quick-delivery program for the systems includes a choice of options designed to meet varying project requirements and time demands.
Stellar 1 features 4-, 8-, and 16-drop multinozzle assemblies shipped in three to five working days. Stellar 2 offers 4-, 8-, and 16-drop MNA package systems with standard nozzle plate thicknesses that ship in five working days. Stellar 3 provides 4-, 8-, and 16-drop MNA package systems with custom nozzle plate thicknesses that ship in 10 working days. The systems are said to be competitively priced and ideal for precision micromolding applications.
Designed for use in mold bases with tight center-to-center distances, the externally heated system works well with commodity- and engineering-grade resins in many high-cavitation applications, including electrical/electronic, medical, and cosmetic packaging.
The hot runners offer flexibility in molding various small part sizes, especially when combined with a Master Unit Die (MUD) quick-change frame and insert system.
The nozzles have a front-loaded design for the tips, heaters, and thermocouples. The modular nozzle bodies are interchangeable and can be attached to a manifold by either threaded or compression connections. Standardized multinozzle assemblies accept threaded nozzles. Custom applications use compression-style nozzle connections.
