Quick Tool Turnaround

prod_foc_131.jpgA new line of tool lifters reportedly accelerates mold changing in vertical presses. Using a spring-loaded or hydraulic ball-style design, the standard- or metric-sized lifters can create a customized system for mold changing. Tools reportedly move easily along a T-slotted surface with precise transfer from the press and no side-to-side movement. The hydraulically operated ball-style lifters are designed for moving dies in several directions to ensure proper positioning and function in a variety of environments. For the proper fit, the tool lifters come in four metric sizes and two standard models. The roller lifters have three metric models and one standard size. The systems raise the tool between 2 and 4 mm above the bolster to allow movement for mold alignment. The hydraulic ball-style lifter uses pressure of 75 bar, while the roller-style system operates at 150 bar. The spring-loaded units range in price, depending on size, from $136 to $646, and the hydraulic models cost between $253 and $2440.
