The ES2 heavy duty sprue picker uses a swing-type design that pivots the arm out over the operator side, or over the backside press safety gate for release into a grinder. The unit is easily adaptable by changing the end-of-arm tooling, and fits molding machines up to 700 tons. The EMS swing-type sprue picker is designed for molding machines up to 300 tons. The pickers are available with vertical strokes of 18, 25, and 32 inches. They are said to offer basic, low-cost automation, with high-end features such as linear bearings and cable tracks on all axes. A pneumatic sprue-sensing transducer automatically compensates for variations in sprue sizes and air pressure with no adjustment by the installer.
