Retrofit extrusion control upgrade

A new control system retrofit kit allows management of an entire extrusion line via modern HMI-Software and a 19-inch touch screen. The TEC 4s from High Tech Extrusion group, developed in cooperation with Siemens, can be installed new or retrofitted onto Theysohn Extruders.

High Tech Extrusion, consisting of Theysohn, Technoplast, Topf and Extruder-Komponenten Salzgitter, calls itself an "all-in-one" provider, offering extrusion lines, tools and pipe heads. After the latest development of the new OMNIA series and the new RK Streamliner pipe head, High Tech Extrusion now presents the new TEC 4s as retrofit kit.TEC4s.jpg

The TEC 4 system combines handling and a control system in a unique way, according to High Tech, with an operating terminal optimized for heavy industrial conditions, including a fanless and therefore maintenance-free industrial-PC. The communication between the TEC 4s and all drives, peripheral devices and downstream equipment works through a PROFIBUS bus system.

The company says operational reliability and shorter down times are achieved by simple wiring because of selected high-class components, an analysis program and remote maintenance via LAN and/or WAN. In 99% of all cases, because of the system's design, the customer can maintain or exchange spare, according to High Tech, eliminating the need for a Theysohn technician to visit.
