Rolco Inc. (Kasota, MN) isn't letting the recession hold it back from its strategic plans to make capital investments in equipment and certifications. Rolco announced it purchased a new 300-ton, 2-shot injection machine, an Engel Victory, doubling Rolco's capacity in the 300-ton range.

Meeting customer requirements is priority one at Rolco. "Unmet needs are lost opportunities," stated Rolco President Brian Olson. "Although this purchase represented a significant capital investment, it was made to meet customers' needs. Taking precious resources and using those to meet customer needs in a timely manner is something we at Rolco see as a priority, whether in good times or bad."
Rolco currently has 31 injection molding presses, 11 of those are multishot machines. Multishot is Rolco's strategic focus, and the company molds multishot components across a range of markets including medical, pharmaceutical, and industrial. Olson said that he believes that responsiveness shouldn't be limited by production schedules. The new Engel machine has a tiebarless clamping system that enables molds to be mounted in a minimum amount of time and provides a clear doorway for automation. It also has the latest software technology to optimize the molding process.
"We remain committed to investing in technology and capability in order to remain competitive on behalf of our customers," stated Olson.
Rolco also received its International Traffic and Arms Regulation certificate from the U.S. State Dept. Several customers requested that Rolco become ITAR registered, and Rolco has now completed that process. —[email protected]
