Saint-Gobain acquires CPT
December 29, 2006
Saint-Gobain (Paris) subsidiary, Performance Plastics, has acquired thermoplastic elastomer (TPE) tubing, resin, molded products, and equipment supplier Consolidated Polymer Technologies (CPT; Clearwater, FL). CPT’s C-Flex brand is sold into the medical and pharmaceutical markets, and Saint-Gobain plans to integrate the business into its healthcare unit, which is a segment within the fluid-systems division. That business already supplies the Sani-Tech, PharMed, and Tygon product lines.
Set to be finalized in January 2007, the transaction, for which terms were not disclosed, will retain the C-Flex brand. Saint-Gobain performance plastics is part of the larger Saint-Gobain business, which includes exterior products, insulation, gypsum products, and piping.
