According to this manufacturer, its excelsiorR Lite machining center was designed specifically for users who need high-speed technology but, for budget reasons, are unable to afford a machine center made exclusively for small tooling sized 0.25 inch or smaller. It has an aluminum bed rather than the granite table found on the established, more expensive excelsiorR EX. While this does impact rigidity to some extent, this may not be critical to every application, for instance when machining plastic parts.
