Side-entry robot introduced at Fakuma

A new generation of side-entry robots was on display at the Fakuma show, held in Germany in October 2006. The robots were shown as part of a work cell producing PS tumblers in an eight-cavity single-face mold on a Husky Hylectric 300 press. The robot?s mold intrusion time of less than 0.3 second allowed an overall cycle time of less than 2.6 seconds. The slim design of the end-of-arm-tool was said to reduce the required mold opening stroke, again shortening the cycle.
