The Windows-based SPC-Light is an entry-level system designed for collecting data from just one or two cells. SPC-Light can connect to almost any digital gauge or measurement device. The software can eliminate the use of manual data collection and chart presentation, saving time and money by reportedly making it easier to spot problematic trends and correct malfunctions while they?re still relatively small. Both current and historic data can be viewed, so quick decisions on improvements can be made.

For more complex needs, SPC-Online collects user-specified data from every cell in the factory. Unlike SPC-Light, SPC-Online uses an industrial database, SQL/Oracle, for data collection and analysis. It can integrate with existing systems, such as MRP, MES, and SCADA, but the data only has to be entered once.

The software is versatile enough to monitor and analyze what is going on in a specific cavity in a specific mold across any number of injection presses. Information gathered by digital gauges and measuring devices is fed through a multiplexer into the database. Supervisors can spot anything that is out of spec or out of control in a couple of mouse clicks.

SPC-Online has a suite of predesigned reports that can be edited to suit the needs of an individual operation. SPC-Online is Internet/intranet-compatible, so anyone with a Web browser can access the real-time reports. The database structure of SPC-Online makes detailed traceability easy, and its Web-compatible reporting can let a molder?s customers keep track of all the process improvements being made.
