Storopack acquires Cleanpak; announces majority owner in two other firms

Storopack (Cincinnati, OH), a manufacturer and marketer of protective packaging solutions, has acquired the industrial packaging business of CleanPak Products in Tampa, FL. The acquisition encompasses loose fill manufacturing and distribution, as well as several other redistribution products, including bubble wrap, bubble-lined mailers, and rolled foam.

According to Storopack, the move strengthens its market position in Florida and in the United States as the most complete supplier of equipment-based and non-equipment-based protective packaging solutions.

storopack-250.jpgStoropack representatives, with support from CleanPak owner and President, George Brydon, worked through a smooth and seamless transition and an uninterrupted supply of protective packaging products. "Our distributors and customers in the Florida region will see virtually no change in their dealings," commented Joe LaGrasta, U.S. Vice President of Storopack. "In fact, they will soon be capitalizing on the increased opportunities, offerings, and efficiencies this acquisition brings."

In line with this strategy, Storopack initiated a partnership with Action Corrugated Supply LLC and Specialty Converting LLC in Florida earlier this year. Effective April 1, 2014, Storopack acquired majority interest in these two firms, which are now combined into one company called Action Specialty Packaging LLC. This transaction made Storopack a partner with Andrew Schulman who continues to act as Managing Partner. Action Specialty serves the Florida market with single-face corrugated and paper rolls as well as corrugated boxes, bubble wrap, and mailers manufactured in Opa-Loka and Tampa.

"The partnership will enable Storopack to even better serve its distributors and customers in these key business areas and to further develop business opportunities in the Florida market and beyond," commented Daniel Wachter, President, Storopack North America.
