Turnkey irrigation pipe line developed for high output

In cooperation with Drip Research Technology Services (DRTS; San Diego, CA), this processing equipment manufacturer has come up with a complete extrusion line for the production of irrigation pipes that can be used with virtually all types of drippers. These complex, injection-molded parts used to distributed moisture and save precious water resources, can be installed inline through a crosshead via a special feeding unit from DRTS during pipe production. The line has a speed of 80 m/min with a capacity of inserting up to 250 drippers/min into the plastics pipe. The line uses a BEX1-45-30D single-screw extruder with a 45 mm screw diameter with a L/D of 30:1, and an output of 220 kg/hr. Following extrusion is a full bath vacuum tank for calibration and a new haul-off unit in a C-shaped design, making it smaller and lighter than conventional units.
