At this time, the plant mostly undertakes assembly of machines, but a KraussMaffei spokesperson told PlasticsToday that the eventual goal is for full manufacturing at the site.
The facility will now produce EX series injection molding machines, linear robots, reaction process machines and systems, and component trimming machines. Output will be delivered globally, according to the KraussMaffei spokesperson. When the plant opened in 2010, it built switch cabinets, assembled AX series injection molding machines, and produced additional parts for plastics processing machinery.
At the time, the 6600-sq-m production area featured CNC machining and assembly of AX series injection molding machines up to 350 tonnes. Back then, the plant employed 120 people, while it has as staff of approximately 200 today.
