The manufacturer (Malterdingen, Germany) last year appointed two new sales and service representatives in Italy, and reckons it’s now bearing the fruit of those appointments. The Vitesse (French for ‘speed’) machines were officially introduced at the Fakuma trade show last October. The Vitop order is for two Vitesse 250 (2500 kN clamp force) machines plus three of the company’s all-electric Elektra evolution 300 units (3000 kN clamp force). All five are bound for the processor’s new plant in Alessandria, Italy.

Vitop plans to use the two new Vitesse presses for production of a tap for a bag-in-box beverage package. One press will mold the taps; the other will produce the connectors for linking the tap with a flexible package. —[email protected]
