Web-exclusive product: Toggle machine gets higher clamp forces

NP_Battenfeld_ac.gifThe TM Series modular toggle-clamp injection molding machines from Battenfeld Injection Molding Technology has been expanded with 550- and 650-metric ton models. The series now includes 11 models from 50 to 650 metric tons with choices of injection units and screw diameters. The new models offer choices of a 2800, 4500, or 7700 injection unit and screws from 65 to 120 mm diameter.

TM machines are designed to be workhorses, combining sturdy construction, reliability, precision, easy operation, and low maintenance. The clamp features long tiebar guides and cast-in supports to minimize deflection and give precise mold guidance. Mold height adjustment is easy and fast. Parts removal can go in three directions. An energy-saving load-sensing hydraulic system ensures smooth open and close, precise positioning, and short dry-cycle times. Wide platen support helps ensure parallelism and sensitive mold protection. Automatic central lubrication and self-lubricating tiebar bushings contribute to low maintenance.

On the injection end there is a linear guidance system for exact axial movement of the injection unit. Dual carriage cylinders provide momentum-free nozzle carriage. Screws are all 22:1 L/D ratio, and the injection unit swivels to the operator side for easy nozzle access and simple screw removal. The injection unit design is compact and short to save floor space. Controls are the Unilog B2 or B4, the latter available with optional teleservice remote diagnostics and host computer connection via the Euromap standard. Both controls include removable data storage to facilitate easy transfer of data between machines.
