Web only: Plastics USA attendance down from 2001; SPI president Donald Duncan retires

As a sign of continuing growth in the plastics industry, the Plastics USA 2004 exposition surpassed expectation by attracting 363 exhibitors and 11,292 advance and onsite attendee registrations, according to Jordan L. Morgenstern, VP in charge of trade shows for the Society of the Plastics Industry Inc. (SPI), Washington, DC.

In other SPI news, according to an Oct. 8 press release, Donald K. Duncan, president of SPI, will retire during Q1 2005. Duncan came to the SPI after a brief retirement from DuPont, where he last was president and CEO of DuPont Dow Elastomers.—CK
