Welder gives parts a spin
May 1, 2005
Part of the Solutions series of secondary assembly equipment, the Model DHSW 750 Dual Headed Spin Welder is designed to spin weld two parts at once, up to 24 inches in diameter. The dual-headed spin welding machine has new servocontrol technology in both the spin axis and the z-axis, allowing for precise control of spin welding applications. All machine operation is controlled from the machine operator interface, and part orientation can be controlled within ±.1-deg over a 24-inch diameter part. Spin axis speeds can be adjusted in 1-rpm increments up to 3000 rpm, with high torque.
Because the spin axis is servocontrolled, the output rpm will remain constant regardless of the load applied during the weld cycle. Z-axis servocontrol allows adjustments over the feed rate during the welding process in .1-inch/min increments as well as final weld distances measured in .001 inch. An adjustable head home position allows for lower head height retract positions, increasing machine output.
