"Secure destruction" and "sustainability" are catchphrases for a new service offered by Connecticut Metal Industries. The company calls the destruction and recycling system service a green and secure alternative to traditional incineration. The company will accept pharmaceutical and sensitive packaging scrap shipped under seal into its Ansonia, Connecticut warehouse.

Scrap is run through CMI's recycling system, separated into recyclable components and later compressed into bricks or bales for material recovery. |
The system also provides financial incentives for clients. Instead of destroying valuable materials in an incinerator, CMI hopes to return some of the recycling value to its suppliers. Clients will even have the ability to view the destruction process of their packaging materials via VIP access to either streaming or archived video. —PlasticsToday Staff
