). Presented annually to companies that have demonstrated initiative toward implementing sustainable and environmentally conscious products and practices, the award recognizes PolyOne’s sustainable programs and services including OnColor Bio colorants, OnCap Bio additive masterbatches, and PlanetPak, the company’s recycled packaging alternative to steel-rimmed fiber drums. The award also encompasses PolyOne’s No Surprises Pledge to customers introduced last November, which states that the materials contain only ingredients that conform to accepted legal and regulatory compliance guidelines, and that PolyOne will use sustainable practices in formulating and manufacturing its materials to enhance long-term product viability and foster environmental stewardship.

“Our focus is on putting the customer first,” says Michael E. Kahler, senior VP, commercial development at PolyOne. “We have targeted our research efforts toward enhancing the processing, functional, and aesthetic performance of biopolymers. The ability to expand the overall performance of these materials will help our customers achieve their sustainability goals by broadening their use of environmentally friendly solutions.”—[email protected]
