Mounted on a single base, the system can be easily moved around the plant and set up, and is particularly adapted for smaller parts. The RoboTrim RT-400 uses the Fanuc-based RPT R-44A six-axis robot plus an auxiliary axis for the servocontrolled table. The table offers 60º/sec motion and has a maximum part/fixture capacity of 250 lb. Work parts can be up to 45 inches wide by 45 inches deep by 26 inches high.
The color screen Fanuc iPendant is standard, as is RPT?s RouterWare application software. Setup calls for leveling and connecting power and air but does not entail lagging the system to the floor. Options include automatic tool change (6 seconds to change), alternative single- and dual-ended spindles, the RPT Compliant Knife, and RPT-made fixtures. Software is available to enhance accuracy and program offline.?RN
