Rigid polypropylene gaylord covers are designed to protect material from contamination without the pitfalls of fabric covers. According to the manufacturer, the covers offer four advantages over fabric covers. They can be removed without dumping dust into the material; the corners never flop into the gaylord of material; they are waterproof and oilproof; and there is no elastic to wear out and get brittle, especially in the presence of the chemical liquids and gases found in a molding shop. Fabricated from 1/4-inch-thick polypropylene, the covers include a filtered port to keep shop dust out of the material while allowing air in.
Stock units have a 2-inch probe inlet. The company stocks the rigid polypropylene gaylord covers in three standard square sizes and a round, 22 1/2-inch-diameter version. Custom covers can be
made to fit nonstandard sizes.
