Blown and cast film equipment maker Primplast Srl, Melzo, Italy, has bought Polytech SpA, Marano Ticino, Italy, for an undisclosed sum. Polytech is likely best known as a maker of double-bubble biaxially-oriented film lines, but it makes cast film and coating lines and film printing equipment, as well. The two companies compliment each other's technologies, says Ombretta Paitoni, sales and marketing director at Primplast.
The companies will continue to produce their separate lines under existing names and at present facilities. Primplast plans to make use of Polytech's larger service/sales base, but is also looking for other synergies, such as marketing and components, says Paitoni.
