Resin supply: DSM ramps up Brazilian EPDM production

DSM Elastomers (Heerlen, Netherlands) has begun commercial production of high-performance EPDM grades using a new reactive extruder (REX) line at its factory in Triunfo, Brazil. Initially, the facility will produce downsheared and functionalized polymers for use as viscosity index improvers, as well as modifiers and compatibilizers for plastics and other polymeric compositions. DSM says there are four new REX grades under development and currently at the pre-commercial customer evaluation stage. DSM supplies EPDM rubber Keltan and thermoplastic vulcanizate (TPV) Sarlink.
