The company has already invested more than euro 500 million on the site since 1999, including a new sealant operation with one-part silicone rubber grades marketed under the Elastosil trademark, offering a room-temperature cure.

Wacker Chemie AG officially commissioned two new production facilities for silicone polymers and sealants at its Nünchritz, Germany site today, describing the investment as a “double-digit million” one that will result in 16 new jobs. The company has already invested more than euro 500 million on the site since 1999, including a new sealant operation with one-part silicone rubber grades marketed under the Elastosil trademark, offering a room-temperature cure. The company’s silicones division at the site produces pyrogenic silica, chlorosilanes, silicates, silicone fluids, silicone emulsions, antifoam agents, siliconates, and silicone rubber, as well as the necessary precursors. In addition to Nünchritz, the company has another site in the German state of Saxony, with combined employment of 2000.
