To celebrate the opening of its 45,500-ft2 plant last year, Revision Eyewear invited guests to check out its Essex Junction, VT facility on Aug. 28, 2008. The company makes mission-critical eyewear for military, law enforcement, and tactical customers. The new location is part of Revision's $6 million investment in plant and equipment to meet growing global demand.

Those who attended the open house got a look at an environmentally controlled production cleanroom that houses molding and lens-coating equipment, as well as automated material handling and robotics for inspection. Revision also demonstrated its ballistic and optical testing lab-a $1 million investment-that is used for rigid QA testing and new product development.—[email protected]
