Rotomolding: Rotonics sells its tank processing division

. Rotonics is majority owned by Spell Capital, which states the processor has annual revenue of about $60 million.

Rotonics' sale includes machinery and molds but does not include its custom fuel-tank business. The tank group's business assets were not strategic to the firm's growth, according to a company press release. Rotonics' primary business segments include custom processing, material handling, linen & laundry, refuse, medical waste, custom pallets, and utilities. In the past year Rotonics has closed five facilities; it now operates four facilities located in California, Colorado, Minnesota and Illinois.

Norwesco claims to be North America's third-largest rotomolder and operates 15 processing facilities, focused on processing of tanks used to transport and store water or chemicals, as well as those used as cisterns or waste tanks. Snyder Industries has six processing plants, all in the U.S., and also manufactures tanks of steel and metal/plastic composite designs. Its tanks see use in the same markets as Norwesco's do, but Snyder also markets its product for transport of dry granular substances and solids, such as those used in food processing. —[email protected]
