A lifetime guarantee on all seal parts for a hydraulic screenchanger ensures the all-steel, patented taper-ring will operate leak-free at up to 10,000 psi with process temperatures of 70 to 700F. The 8-inch HSC-80 is designed for use on larger compounding lines since it offers a broader filtration area, but can also run on smaller extruders (4 to 6 inches) that are processing high levels of recycled materials.
Described as a "scaled-up" version of four previous models, the HSC-80 attaches directly to the extruder's flange with bolts that pass through. Material hang-up areas that can lead to degradation or gel buildup are eliminated, and the PLC-controlled slide-plate heaters require only one zone of temperature control, as opposed to three.
