Sensors stay in mold inserts

Article-Sensors stay in mold inserts

Quick disconnects for cavity pressure and cavity temperature sensors now are available that are not bolted into the mold platen but rather stay safely packed in the mold insert even after dismounting. This helps prevent damage to the sensors, says the supplier.

Different mold inserts with different sensor positions can be used without changing the position of the quick disconnects. Unlike a sensor installed in the mold platen, with these the dimensions of the mold insert are of no importance, and molders can position sensors where it makes the most sense for a particular part.
