Sterltech Automation has introduced a new line of all-servo robots that includes 12 models ranging from 50 to 6000 tons. It is the first time the company has offered all-servo robots at such large sizes. The SA series robots? 3-D servo-driven axes provide high-speed accuracy and improve cycle times. Overall cycle times range from 5 seconds and up, with take-out times of less than 2 seconds. Designed and built with heavy-duty linear bearings on all axes and a high-strength modular beam construction, the robot offers versatility and flexibility. Different beam sizes are available to match the user?s molding machine size.
The robots now include standard, modifiable quick-change end-of-arm-tooling, allowing easy changeover to accommodate a variety of applications. A handheld pendant controller with full diagnostics handles programming setup and operation. Off-line programming and SPI interface are standard.
All SA series robots are supported with onsite installation and start-up, and 24-hour on-call service support. Pricing information was not provided.
