Simplified EOAT hookup

Connecting air, vacuum, and electrical attachments for end-of-arm tooling (EOAT) can be difficult to do in a short amount of time, but a new quick change system automatically ensures that everything is properly hooked up. EMI Quick Changers work by having one unit permanently attached to the robot and the other to the EOAT. When users connect the EOAT to the robot, the Quick Changers must match up and lock together. By assigning different functions to different ports on the Quick Changer, users can create primary and secondary vacuum circuits, gripper circuits, and more for the robot side, which are numbered and lock into corresponding ports on the EOAT. Quick Changers are available in small and large sizes. The small version accommodates EOAT for molding machines from 50 to 1000 tons. The combined weight of the EOAT and robot changers is 1.4 lb. The small Quick Changer can handle eight air vacuum lines and five electrical signals.

The large Quick Changer is designed for EOAT on machines ranging from 750 to 3000 tons and can be fitted with an EOAT as large as 150 lb. The larger version has 10 threaded ports for air fittings and can manage up to five electrical signals. Quick Changers cost $195 and $439 for the smaller version?s robot and EOAT sides, respectively; the larger version?s robot and EOAT are $299 and $648, respectively.
