The SmartLock slide lock and limit switch combines both functions in a single, compact package. The device mechanically holds the slide fully retracted while its integral electrical switching element simultaneously verifies the slide position to the machine control. Other features include a lock with adjustable holding (breakaway) force; an integral, tandem-actuated, SPDT snap-action electrical switching element that can be connected directly to the machine control; and easy installation. It has withstood a shop test of more than 10,000,000 cycles without discernible wear or failure. Cost is $95 for the standard unit and $104 for the high-temperature unit.
