Varimetrix Corp., manufacturers of VX Vision CAD/CAM software, has released VX Vision Mold Edition, a specially designed version of the program optimized for the design and documentation of injection molds. Using the software moldmakers can develop quotes, generate supporting documentation, and design and build molds.

Mold Edition is built on a unified solid and surface modeling application and offers several features to assist the moldmaker, including tools for draft creation and analysis, core and cavity separation, mold base definition, shutoff creation, parting line and parting surface generation, and slide and insert design. The new program also makes use of the ?check and heal? function built into the VX Vision kernel. This feature helps refine the accuracy of models imported from other systems. Mold Edition will be available at NPE in booth N6989.
