Software makes quotes more accurate, informative

Magics Tooling Expert software from Materialise is designed to provide more accurate and profitable quotes on new tooling, as well as make the quote document more attractive and informative for the client. Starting with a 3-D CAD or STL file, the software lets a user analyze a tool using images that show undercuts, draft, parting lines, wall thickness variations (pictured), and more. In the end, a 3-D image of the complete tool showing the parting line, planes, core, and cavity is automatically generated. Information from the analysis determines parameters such as product shape, slides, ejection mechanisms, and injection pressure based on the user?s specified costs. The quote can be modified to allow users to work from drawings and with multiple cavities. Adjustment factors for any parameters that are consistently over- or underestimated can be inserted. The final quote document can include a second currency and any or all of the analysis images, including snapshots of any point in the process. Tooling Expert will define the final quote page setup with customizable Microsoft Word templates.
