Software paging system offers freedom, customization

A new software program allows users to be anywhere in the plant and still have instant monitoring capabilities. Using custom sound files and data from a monitoring computer, the program sends messages to numeric pagers, audio PA systems, or even to bell systems when a molding machine rejects parts. A signal also informs personnel when machines and processes are not functioning properly. The software can be customized and applied to multiple computers to split the plant into cells so that each supervisor will only be alerted to problems in his/her area. DartAlert works with DartVision 5.0 software, when installed as a viewer, and monitors status files on that computer. If a plant already has an internal paging system, only the DartAlert software needs to be installed.
