Sprue gripper with finger target and sensor

NP_EMI_1880_cover.gif
The Sensor Finger sprue gripper is based on the Senvex Value sprue gripper, and eliminates the time consuming process often needed to set up a sensor. The gripper confirms that the sprue has been gripped with a finger sensor along with two more sensor slots on the gripper body that can also be used if additional sensing is needed. One could be used to confirm the gripper is open, and the other to indicate the gripper is fully closed.

The gripper provides high grip force in a compact, lightweight body. Sprue fingers are made of anodized extruded aluminum, and replacement finger kits are available. The integrated sprue finger design allows a wide range of sprue diameters to be gripped. Interlaced serration securely grips small-diameter sprues, while the cradle design ensures that even large diameter sprues won?t twist out.

The Sensor Finger is available in spring-open and double-acting models. Force at 25-mm tooling length is 30 lbf and 33 lbf respectively. Cost is $179. Sensors are purchased separately and vary in price from $20-$23.
