Sprue picker allows remote control adjustments

A new sprue picker?s pneumatic motors and servomotors allow users to set mechanical stops while the machine?s controls remotely adjust vertical and kick strokes. The remote control features of the MXR Series can provide additional safety by eliminating the need to climb on top of the press to manually adjust pickers. The freely programmable controls allow many movement sequences and can store 100 sequences for reuse. The MXR provides templates that users can adjust, edit, or manipulate to suit a mold?s needs. Available in six different models, the MXR pickers can operate on machines ranging from 20 to 550 tons. The unit?s high-speed actions can remove sprues as quickly as .6 second with overall cycle times as fast as 3 seconds. Mounted on the stationary platen, the pickers require compressed air and single-phase power. Optional features for the MXR line include a 90° wrist-flip for runner or part positioning, a Venturi vacuum kit, second descent slowdown, a gripper pressure regulator, and end-of-arm tooling for light-duty parts removal.
