A library of standard and supplier parts, called Partsolutions, has added a direct interface to Cadkey. Partsolutions, a CAD-independent 2-D and 3-D parts system, is designed to automatically generate a native part or model when imported into a CAD software program. The Cadkey interface joins a long list of other CAD software that directly links with Partsolutions, including Unigraphics, Pro/Engineer, Catia, AutoCAD, Solid Edge, SolidWorks, I-deas, thinkdesign, and Mechanical Desktop.

Because Partsolutions models use a direct interface and are based on a neutral file format, incompatibilities introduced by common international translators are avoided, according to company sources. The Cadkey interface costs $1500 and can be purchased through Cornerstone Technology, its developer.
