Multiflex thermoplastic elastomer alloys are designed as alternatives to polyester and PUR elastomers for diverse overmolding applications. Based on SEBS chemistry, Multiflex TEA grades are suitable for coinjection over ABS, SAN, PC, copolyester, and cellulose ester. These alloys enable reliable performance in molding flexible or soft parts to rigid parts.
Multiflex TEA grades offer easy flow, a wide processing window, and reduced cycle times compared to PUR. They are suitable for such applications as handheld tools to give a soft-grip overmolded over rigid plastic. They feature a Shore hardness from 50 to 90 A, provide 500 to 2500 psi tensile strength, and a flexural modulus of 2000 to 35,000 psi. Prices range from $2.50 to $3.00/lb for 20,000 lb and up.
