Tiebarless line extended to smaller tonnages

Article-Tiebarless line extended to smaller tonnages

The new 28t tiebarless injection molding machine offers the benefits of tiebarless technology to molders using smaller machines. When tiebars are removed on small-tonnage machines, the molder gains a substantially larger platen area that can accommodate larger, more complex molds. Conventional machines can often force molders to use larger tonnage machines than an application needs because the mold cannot physically fit between tiebars at the ideal tonnage.

The 28t offers Flexlink, a new, fully mechanical linkage that requires no maintenance and ensures absolute platen parallelism and centricity. It also offers an SPI ejector pattern and easy access to ejectors for adjustments during mold changeover. Other features include high-precision proportional hydraulics with energy efficient, variable-speed pumps, advanced EC100 or CC100 controls with Risc-based processing capability, and a swiveling injection unit for rapid screw and barrel changes. Pricing on the 28t was not provided, but is described by the manufacturer as ?very competitive.?
