Temperature control is moving right to the gate in hot runner molding to allow precise control for such difficult molding applications as reverse gating opposite a cosmetic surface, minimal gate vestige requirements, or tough engineering polymer jobs. By allowing molders to change the temperature at each individual gate without affecting the rest of the process, a wider processing window and faster startup are possible. Part quality should also increase since the blush that often appears when gating opposite a cosmetic surface is prevented because the material is thoroughly heated before injection. The tip heater can be used with all engineering plastics, even those with carbon, mineral, or glass fillers, because it is constructed with abrasion-resistant alloys on all flow surfaces.
