"The combined and separate programs of these synergistic conferences provide enhanced value for the plastics decorating professional," said Ron Schultz, IMDA Executive Director. "We believe this is a great opportunity for both IMDA and SPE Decorating & Assembly Division members to expand their knowledge of the latest technologies."
The IMDA Annual Awards Dinner and presentation of the 2016 IMDA awards will conclude the first day of the combined conference. The event also includes a Supplier Trade Fair with tabletop exhibits.
Some of the topics covered in the general session, open to all attendees, include "Trends and Future Outlook for Decorative Applications for Automotive Interiors" and "Replacing Decorative Electroplating: Methods, Challenges, and Resources." Decorating breakout session presentations include "In-Mold Thermoformable Laminates for Handheld Design," "Plasma Surface Treatment for a Clean Surface to Attain Adhesion" and "In-Mold Decorating with Laser Etch."
The assembly breakout session will feature "Staking Showdown: Comparing the Process and Performance of Plastic Staking Methods," the "Importance of Impact Resistance in the Adhesive Selection Process" and "Cost Effective, Versatile Solutions Using the Electromagnetic Welding Process."
